The Team (Soigneurs)

Ian’s three soigneurs on this marathon adventure, who will provide all the support needed to keep him on the road, are his wife Jill and his two friends Stuart & Mark.

All are veterans of Ian’s last trip when they supported him on his non-stop ride from Lands End to John O’Groats in 2005.

Jill’s role on the trip will be to add the female touch - keeping the motorhome sparkling clean and ensuring Ian gets all the nutritional food he needs.  Jill and Ian have been together for over ten years and she knows him better than anyone else - she knows what makes him tick and will bring a smile to his face when the going gets tough.

Mark Gregory has been Ian’s friend for many years and he can best be described as a ‘jack of all trades’ - if it is broken Mark will fix it, if it’s not he will always have ideas on how to make it better!  Mark is already developing an on board camera system to capture the adventure on film and planning to rig up an outdoor shower system… He will be an invaluable member of the team providing the backbone required to make sure the job gets done!  He is in training himself to ride along with Ian on some parts of the trip.

Stuart Reynolds is a sports therapist and nutritional lifestyle coach, who presently lives and works in the Algarve although returns to the UK every month to treat existing clients.  Ian first met Stuart over seven years ago having suffered from back problems for a number of years.  Stuart was the only person who managed to get to grips with Ian’s symptons and has kept him on his bike ever since.  He was instrumental in Ian’s success in 2005 by recognising the need to change his diet during the ride and also gave him continuous massage treatment throughout.  Stuart is calculating the required calorific levels to maintain Ian’s energy on this year’s ride and will once again make sure his body is fit for purpose! A tough challenge!
