Stage 11. Lannemezan to Foix (104 Miles)

8 am start this morning cloudy and fresh following hard rain all night. Usual morning slow start, i couldn’t get my legs and head motivated, but persistent pressure from the team ensured i kept on the move and after coffee stop in Aspet i managed the long haul up the Col de Portel through dense wooded areas and fantasic views of the Pyrenees. Had lunch at the summit and Mark rigged up the camrecorder onto his cycle helmet before filming my decent. Warm day but cloudy with temperatures in 70’s. We identified fantasic opportunity and deployed Mark equipped with bicycle and head-cam on the D199. Unfortunately, we made a mistake which resulted in Mark cycling an extra 10km, when the rest of us had turned of-picture this, Mark on a bike with camcorder strapped to his helmet with masking tape and zip ties, gaining much attention from passing motorists. Finished at 7pm and staying on campsite at Foix.

    Bonsoir Jonno,

Congratulations for getting up and over some of those hills that you were dreading. You are doing tremendously well. Some pretty high mileage so far. Have read all the logs. Some great stories to tell. We will follow your progress.

Anne sends her love and says, “bonne chance”

Best wishes to the rest of the team. Love, Steve and Anne
